Before I start dropping the materials created and data that I've been logging for days now, I would like to highlight the following subjects where it peaked my uttermost interest to do the testing myself.
13 days ago, a reddit post which talks about the "truth about genshin's chests" (https://www.reddit.com/Genshin_Impact/comments/jeov1j/the_truth_about_genshins_chests/), that has become very controversial and brought confusion and skepticism for the players (even I included) who were certain that chests do "respawn". Initially, we do know that Common Chest Tiers do "respawn", with the given respawn time of 2 days maximum. However, due to multiple postings that we have seen on reddit that not only Common Chest tiers "respawn", but also Luxurious Chest tiers. As you may have noticed so far, I've been highlighting the word "respawn" right from the begin. From what I think, players were torn between using the terms "respawn" and "spawn". Before I continue, let me give you my own understanding and definition between these two words:
  • Respawn signifies that the item/content appears right on the same exact spot every single time at a known rate.
  • Spawn, on the other hand, is more on the item/content's random rate of going online.
Hence, respawn is best used for Elite Bosses, mini-bosses, plant/ore materials, which has a fixed location on the map each time to want to go back to them; and spawn is best use for common mobs, in general. In the simplest of terms, respawn has a fixed or respective cycle while spawn is a one-time occurrence.
To top all of those points above, there are conditions and specifications that I, too, have also taken into consideration when conducting the tests myself - namely: world level and chest type. I've taken this into consideration to be in-line with the test that has been conducted by the reddit posts that I have mentioned above. It was stated there that "...chests don't "respawn", but they "spawn" for every time you hit the next world level..."

Now that I have given you the idea behind this test, let's now proceed with the structure and materials that I used during the time period. The tests conducted were divided by which I call "cycles". This means a series of counter-checks and monitoring were done under the exact same test conditions. For every end of the test cycles after the first, I will be formulating my hypothesis and conclusion for that particular cycle. To further give you an idea with the technical terms that I have used, please refer to the legend below:

I was not able to find a sealed counter-part for a Luxurious Chest tier. So I decided to let it pass since I still had the sealed counter-parts for the 3 other chest tiers. 3/4 equates to 75% of all the test subjects are under the same test conditions. Should there be any difference between the spawn time of a normal and sealed chests, it would be safe to assume that the sealed Luxurious Chest's spawn timer differs also from its normal variant.

Upon hitting the next World Level (WL 3 -> WL4), I immediately relogged in and checked the spots where I initially found the chests unopened. Based on the summary above, the gaps between the Cycle 0 and Cycle 1, chests do not re/spawn within the span of 3 days as minimum. This means, the information speculating around the different platforms that Common Chests re/spawn in 2 days time IS NOT TRUE. This applies to players who are at WL3/AR30 and above, considering that most of the progression for AR EXP will mostly depend on treasure chests since the main/archon quest line should be completed by this point.

Even though we have proven one point already, this doesn't mean that we should assume that they do not re/spawn at all. And the gap between the date and time hitting the next WL and chest spawn checks, based from the summary above, isquite short and I, myself, expected that the chests will not re/spawn right away. Not even in a day's time, at the least. So, I continued to monitor and record the same spots for the following days.
I will not dive deep into the wordy details of my succeeding tests. To give you guys an idea, I will be trimming down the format as same as what I have done from the start the of test Cycle 0 up until to the conclusion above.

It has been more than a week since these chests were opened. Not a single one of them re/spawned on the spots where I first found them unclaimed. I can also approve that hitting the next world level DOES NOT enable for chests to re/spawn (well, at least not within a 2-day period). The only question that is left with us now is "When will they ever re/spawn?" I now find the reddit users/postings, who were declaring that the chests did re/spawn on the spots which they are sure they have already claimed, suspicious. Regardless, I cannot blame them nor firmly suspect them. Besides, we all have a common goal of cracking the codes of the chests. If we ever get the answers, there's no point in keeping it to ourselves since there isn't much (or totally) of a competition between the players themselves. I would greatly describe it as "Player versus The System".

CONCLUSION OF CYCLE 0 ~ 3
We have reached the 10-day marks for most of the chests, but the outcome are still the same with the previous test cycle comparisons. No chests. Not even a single one nearby the spots where I found them first. As I explore around my world, I do notice that there are several spots (which I either passed by or claimed a chest nearby) had a new spawn of chest. I don't want to take this into the equation since I was not really able to claim all chests before doing this test (I don't believe in chest farming routes either). Though I used the interactive map myself when I was first doing chest hunts upon reaching the AR EXP slope (AR30) of the game, but only to give myself a guide on where to find them at first interaction.

OVERALL CONCLUSION
Although we have only answered (well, that's what I believe) some of the most common questions regarding the controversial "Do chests respawn?" dilemma, this doesn't mean that I'm firm to say that they do not re/spawn at all. I believe that they do, it's just hard to hit the sweet spot of "They re/spawn at the rate of [insert fixed rate here] for [insert chest tier here] chests." kind of answer. Needless to say, I will also include here my theories which one of them may hold the true answer to this question:
1) As your Adventure Rank and World Level increases, the re/spawn rate of the chests is inversely proportionate. In English, the higher the AR levels, the lower the chest re/spawn rates;
2) In-game time activity and intensity. This may have a factor on the intensity of your game activity. Since you have the longer the hours you take in the game, means you have activities to do aside from chest farming;
3) Common spots do not re/spawn chests. Like I've mentioned with the duration of my testing on Cycle 3, there are some spots that I have already passed by or more certain that I did open the chest on those spots, which had an unclaimed/closed chest. The less frequent you go into a certain area means there's nothing much to do there. It will only matter if you find something around that area, which makes it notable and easier to remember.
4) This is my least suspected case but I would like to add it, still. Constantly monitoring the same chest spots most likely lessen the chances of it to re/spawn. Pinning the location may have a small impact into the equation. Very illogical but not impossible, I daresay; and
5) Last but not the least, it is all RNG. There's no consistent calculations nor logics behind the rate of chest re/spawns.

FINAL WORDS FROM THE SOLE AND LONE TESTER
If you ever reach this section of the post, congratulations. You're hungry for definitive answers regarding this topic. But thank you as well for reading a long-ass scribbles and logs which I have put my effort into it. I know what I have gotten myself into, even before committing into this tedious task day-in-day-out. I had no real expectations for this game, and I still managed to be blindsided by what I discovered. Tough, tiny indie games often try to supplement their size with atmosphere, but the results are often mixed. Here, a small project from a smaller team has brewed a fabulous blend of mechanical finesse and atmospheric splendor. The game is crazy hard, and some of the puzzle elements are pretty obtuse, but I still loved it. If you’re not so impressed by the screenshots and the trailers, take my word for it: Disc Room is so much better than you’re expecting it to be.

Disc Room is a great example of a little indie game doing a damn fine job. From a small idea of bullet hell meets dungeon crawler, the developers have polished the concept up quite nicely. The variety of design ensure that each room feels unique. The innate difficulty of the game provides a satisfying challenge although it can also lead to some frustration. But thankfully the difficulty settings here are highly customisable and allow for great accessibility. Sure there are some confusing rooms, but they’re balanced out by amazing boss fights that left me wanting more. Overall, whilst there are some missteps, it’s definitely one game that’s well worth a try.

Leaderboards for each room and an unlockable Hard mode give players ample reason to continue playing even after conquering all 50 rooms, which is no small feat in itself. Unfortunately, as of review, one room seems to be suffering from a game-breaking bug, and to roll credits I needed to unlock the final area of the ship in the options menu to proceed, so hopefully that gets fixed at or before launch. Regardless, the meat of Disc Room is more than enough to warrant a pick up, especially if you think flinging a cartoon scientist into sharp, spinning discs is a good way to spend your time.

It is single-minded to the point of being playable with precisely one digit. But if these are flaws they are also proof of focus and refinement. Disc Room might be readily slept on, but if you are the kind of tough game obsessive, a connoisseur of arcade death, or a bullet hellion who cannot resist the call to mastery, these rooms should be approached wakeful and willing and ready to die.

Disc Room wants to cut you in so many ways. It wants to chew you up, dismantle you, and make you say a swear or 50 creatively woven into the same sentence. It’s bullet hell without the regular therapy of being able to return fire. But for all of those aspects, it's also horribly addicting. The ease of picking up where you left off and trying your darndest to survive just a little bit longer to unlock a room left me putting down my controller, rubbing my head, and then often picking it up to say, “this will be the time I get it. This time.” It’s not a ridiculously long or complex romp. But it also doesn’t really need to be. It knows what it wants to be. It wants to be your murderer. And the only way you’re going to thwart it is by surviving just long enough to open its next doors and beat its myriad of challenges.

Neither does all the promotion Devolver has done for this game. Disc Room is something different, and I like it.
